ARTIST STATEMENT
I feel like retouching can help a lot of people fix old family photos so that they can get a better view of what their old relatives liked like. For this Unit, My goals were to take the image of an old, beaten up photo and to make clean it up and to patch up imperfections in the image. My main tool was the spot healing and patch tool. I used the spot healing tool to content aware certain parts of the image that were similar to other parts. Big holes like in places like the hat needed the patching tool, which used color from another part of the same hat to fix the holes. My last tool was the blending tool which i used when drawing certain parts to make everything look uniform. The project met my expectations as I wanted to fix the image and i did while still leaving some texture. Next time i might try using different tools to achieve a similar effect.
